Minimal café interior design · day

Design notes
- Materials
- Concrete, walnut and pale oak stay plain, with the street's greenery supplying colour. Stone-topped tables and cork-seated steel chairs add small tactile touches.
- Lighting
- Daylight through the tall glazing is the main source, with thin track spots along the ceiling for later hours.
- Layout
- Seating runs along the left wall on a built-in bench and loose chairs, leaving the window side clear for walking. The counter sits at the back so queues form without blocking seats.
- Display
- Croissants and pastries sit on the glass counter at eye level, with the espresso machine behind. Food at the point of ordering makes the case the main sales tool.
Try this: Face the pastry case towards the queue so people see what to order before they reach the till.
